FILM DESCRIPTION: The cycle of life on Earth hangs in the balance when Death becomes emotionally involved in this romantic fantasy. William Parrish (Anthony Hopkins) is a tremendously wealthy and powerful man who oversees a worldwide multi-media empire. Despite the loss of his wife, whom he dearly loved, William is content with his life, and he's very close to his two daughters, Allison (Marcia Gay Harden) and Susan (Claire Forlaini). One night, as William is fighting a hostile takeover of his company and Allison is planning an elaborate party to celebrate her dad's 65th birthday, William begins displaying the symptoms of a severe heart attack, and he is visited by a mysterious stranger, Joe Black (Brad Pitt). Joe is actually the angel of death, who has taken the form of a man who recently passed on to pay William a call. It seems that William is due to move on to the next world, but (no great surprise) he doesn't want to go. Joe, on the other hand, is curious to know what life is like for mere mortals, so the two men strike a deal -- William will have some time to get his affairs in order, and Joe will wait and see what it's like to be a human being. Joe decides that he likes it very much when he falls in love with Susan, but negotiating the slippery slopes of romance is no easier for Joe than for any ordinary man. Meet Joe Black is an updated version of Alberto Casella's play Death Takes a Holiday, which was adapted for the screen in 1934. Great scene from 1998 movie "Meet Joe Black". This scene is already uploaded on yt, but it is in horrid quality. In my opinion the quality didn't do it justice, so I decided to reupload in HQ. I do not monetize on this video, i uploaded it for people to appreciate it. There is no other copy of this scene on yt that is uploaded by copyright owners, that's why I did the upload. I do not own rights to "Meet Joe Black" movie. Hopefully this will not get deleted.

This is one of my favorite films. I think it is very romantic and I especially love this scene... The interaction between Bill Parrish and Death is very nice. The way Bill speaks of his late wife, remembering how he first met her... PS, Anyone else hate Drew knocking - I mean I want to hear more about how Bill met his wife for the first time! Like Death said, yes Drew you're interrupting. Go away!

Meet Joe Black (1998) - Cake Scene

02:47
Family love, very touching.

Meet Joe Black - Death Appears

06:50
I don't own the material, belongs to Universal Pictures. What I want with this video, is to let people think and see that DEATH isn't just something that collects people near their end time, but serving to sever the last ties between the soul and the body, and to guide the deceased to the afterlife, without having any control over when or how the victim dies, like in this movie. My point is that DEATH/Grim Reaper isn't always the bad guy in the story, like it's shown here in Meet Joe Black. I hope you enjoy this scene, because this is one of my 3 favorite scenes in this movie.

Meet Joe Black | Wherever You Are | Goldy Locks

I don't talk much about Prince. Only to a few friends back home who knew me well know some of the stories... I was a young kid with a fresh new record deal. Prince wrote a lot of songs for movies. And I had some pretty incredible people helping train me to be the best performer I could be. There was a new movie being shot and they needed music. Even though I was a kid, my writing talent was recognized. When people ask where I get my "confidence" from... it's stories like this. I was on a plane to LA where I sat with the president of one of the biggest labels ever. He offered to buy me some pop corn but I didn't want any. I was lazer focused on the footage in front of me. I watched every move Brad Pitt made and wrote about it. I had 24 hours to complete this music, melody & lyrics. So when people joke and say kids will be kids, I never was. I knew what I wanted even back then & was willing to work for it. And I'm not the one least bit sad about it. I love this song. But even more what it stands for. Determination. The song got cut at the last minute due to "politics." It doesn't matter to me. It will always live on. :-) To all those out there grinding away at your dreams, just keep going. Let the work speak for itself and eventually, everyone will see or hear it. Peace, Goldy

From the film "Meet Joe Black", starring Anthony Hopkins (as Bill Parrish) and Brad Pitt (as Joe Black a.k.a. "Meet Joe Black" Brad Pitt monologue

01:33
You're the poison, Drew. You've operated behind the scenes to suborn the trust of a man... who has stamped you with his imprimatur of class, elegance and stature. I've had the opportunity to be witness to every kind and degree of deception. But Bill Parrish has been on the receiving end of machinations so Machiavellian... that it has rarely been my experience to encounter. And yet, he has combatted them stoically and selflessly, without revealing my identity. Had he violated the vow of secrecy he took, his task would have been far easier. He could have turned defeat into victory. But he is too honorable a man to have done that. Because of me, he has lost his work, his company, his reputation. So now, given these losses, I'm compelled to end the need for secrecy.
